What to Do If Your Account Is Hacked

If you suspect someone else has accessed your account, act quickly.

Signs Your Account May Be Compromised#

• Songs you didn't create in your library
• Settings changed without your action
• Login notifications from unknown locations
• Email change notifications you didn't request
• Can't log in with your password
• Friends received messages you didn't send

Immediate Steps#

Step 1: Change Your Password#

If you can still log in:

1. Go to Settings → Security
2. Click Change Password
3. Create a strong, unique password
4. Don't use a password you've used elsewhere

Step 2: Log Out All Sessions#

1. Go to Settings → Security
2. Find Active Sessions
3. Click Log Out All Other Devices
4. This kicks out anyone else logged in

Step 3: Enable Two-Factor Authentication#

If you haven't already:

1. Go to Security → Two-Factor Authentication
2. Set up with an authenticator app
3. Save your backup codes

Step 4: Review Your Account#

Check for unauthorized changes:

• Profile information
• Email address
• Songs (delete any you didn't create)
• Comments made in your name

If You Can't Log In#

Try Password Reset#

1. Go to Forgot Password
2. Request a reset link
3. Create a new password
4. Secure your account

If Email Was Changed#

Contact support immediately:

• Use "Account compromised" as subject
• Provide your original email
• Describe what happened
• We'll help recover your account

After Securing Your Account#

Check Your Email Account#

If your DailyWorship account was hacked, your email might be too:

• Change your email password
• Enable 2FA on your email
• Check for suspicious activity

Update Other Accounts#

If you used the same password elsewhere:

• Change those passwords too
• Use unique passwords for each site
• Consider a password manager

Monitor for Issues#

Watch for:

• Suspicious activity in coming weeks
• Unauthorized login attempts
• Further changes
