Data Retention Policy

This page explains how long we keep your data and why. It aligns with the retention summary in the Privacy Policy.

Active Accounts#

While your account is active, we retain:

• Profile data (email, name, display name, picture, settings) — until you change or delete it.
• Generated content (songs, lyrics, settings) — until you delete it or close the account.
• Library data (playlists, favorites, history) — until you delete it or close the account.
• Usage data (features used, pages visited) — up to 2 years; aggregated/anonymized data indefinitely.
• Communications (support tickets, emails) — up to 3 years, longer where legally required.

After Account Deletion#

• Immediately: account becomes inaccessible, profile removed from public view, removed from organizations.
• Within 30 days: personal data, generated content, and settings deleted.
• Within 90 days: removed from backup systems; audit logs anonymized.
• Retained indefinitely: anonymized analytics and aggregated statistics with no personally identifiable information.

Special Retention#

Some data may be kept longer for:

• Legal compliance: tax/transaction records up to 7 years; legal-dispute data for the duration of proceedings; other periods as required by law.
• Security: fraud-investigation data as needed; security-incident logs up to 5 years.
• Business records: customer-service records up to 3 years.

Organization Data#

If you're part of an organization, songs you contributed may be retained by the organization under the original creator's license, even after your personal user data is deleted. See Licensing Information.

Backups#

We maintain backups for disaster recovery: active backups ~30 days, archive backups ~90 days. Deleted data is removed from backups on rotation.
