Searching and Filtering Your Library

Once your library grows past a few dozen tracks, you'll want more than scrolling. DailyWorship gives you full-text search and faceted filters across your library and the discovery feed.

Search across title, lyrics, and prompt#

The library search box matches against:

• Track title
• The lyrics of the song
• The prompt you used to generate it
• The tags you've applied

A search for "shepherd" finds anything where that word appears in any of those fields.

The search is plain text. Boolean operators like AND, OR, NOT, or quoted phrases ("green pastures") are not currently supported — every word is treated as a separate search term. If you need to narrow further, combine search with filters.

Filter by style, mood, and status#

The library and discovery pages both expose filter pills:

You can stack filters — e.g. "Hymn + Reverent + Private" — to narrow a large library to a workable shortlist.

Sort#

You can sort by:

• Most recent (default)
• Oldest
• Most played
• Most favourited
• Alphabetical (A→Z)

Sorting is independent of filtering — apply your filters first, then choose how to order what's left.

Tagging for personal organisation#

If you regularly need a slice of your library that the built-in filters can't express ("Christmas Eve setlist 2025," "songs my worship team has approved," "songs in D Major"), use custom tags. Tags are user-defined labels you can add to any track, and the search box matches against them.

A few patterns that work well:

• One tag per service date (2026-04-05)
• One tag per recurring set (sunday-morning, youth-night)
• One tag per use status (approved, needs-review, archive)

What about regex or field-specific search?#

Field-specific search (title:shepherd) and regular expressions are not currently supported. If your library is large enough that you need either of these regularly, file a feature request — we track demand for them.
