Editing Lyrics After Generation

You've generated a worship track and the music feels right, but one verse needs different wording. You don't have to start over. DailyWorship lets you regenerate individual sections — the rest of the song stays exactly as it is.

How section regeneration works#

Every track is broken into named sections — usually some combination of intro, verse, chorus, bridge, and outro. DailyWorship analyses the song's structure during generation and saves where each section begins and ends.

When you regenerate a section, the system:

Re-creates the audio for only the sections you select
Keeps the audio for every other section untouched
Saves the previous version of the track so you can roll back

The style, mood, key, tempo, vocal style, and instrumentation are all preserved. So the regenerated section sounds like it belongs in the same song.

Open the section regenerator#

Open the track from your library or the Studio.
Scroll to the Section Regeneration panel on the track detail page.
You'll see every detected section with its start time, end time, and duration.

If you see "No Sections Detected", track structure analysis is still finishing. Wait a minute, refresh the page, and try again.

Pick which sections to redo#

Tick the box next to each section you want to regenerate. You can pick one or several at once.

A few practical patterns:

Click Regenerate. The track moves to a processing state and you'll see live progress updates. Most regenerations finish in under a minute.

Changing the actual words#

The section regenerator re-creates audio using the track's existing lyric content. To get different wording, you have two practical options:

Option 1 — Generate a fresh version with new lyrics.

For a major rewrite (rewording a whole chorus, swapping a metaphor, switching from "He" to "You"), the cleanest path is to generate a new track with your revised lyrics. Copy the original prompt, paste your new lyric text into the Lyrics field, and generate. You'll get a track with fully matching music and the new words.

Option 2 — Regenerate the section, then audition variations.

Regenerating the same section several times will produce slightly different takes, even with the same input. If you want a different lyric line within an existing structure, regenerating a few times and picking your favourite is often faster than re-prompting from scratch.

What gets preserved#

When you regenerate a section, these stay locked in:

Audio for sections you didn't select
Overall key and tempo
Style (contemporary, hymn, gospel, etc.)
Mood and theme
Vocal style (male, female, choir)
Instrumentation

What gets a new take#

Audio for the sections you selected
Subtle melodic and rhythmic choices within those sections

Versions are saved automatically#

Before each regeneration, DailyWorship snapshots the current track as a version. You can compare versions side by side and revert if a regeneration didn't land. There's no risk of losing the take you liked.

Common questions#

Will the section transitions sound smooth?

Yes — the regenerator respects the section boundaries detected during structural analysis, so cuts land at musically sensible points.

Can I regenerate just the intro?

Yes. Intros and outros are first-class sections. Useful when you want a different lead-in vibe without touching the body of the song.

Does this cost extra?

Section regeneration counts the same as a normal generation against your plan's monthly quota.

Why is there no "Section Regeneration" panel on my track?

Older tracks may have been generated before structure analysis was added. Re-run harmony analysis from the track detail page and the panel will appear.
